0-10V dimming uses a separate low-voltage control signal (0-10V DC) to tell the LED driver what brightness level to output. It is stable, reliable and widely used in commercial and industrial lighting, compatible with building management systems (BMS) and daylight harvesting sensors. Dimming range is typically 1-100%. TRIAC (Triode for Alternating Current) dimming works by cutting part of the AC sine wave, originally designed for incandescent bulbs. It is common in residential retrofit applications but is more prone to flicker, buzzing and limited dimming range (often 10-100%) with LEDs. For commercial projects, 0-10V or DALI is strongly recommended over TRIAC. Always verify that your dimmer switch is compatible with the LED driver's dimming protocol.
