What Color Temperature Is Best for Industrial Manufacturing Facilities?
5000K to 5700K cool white is the industry standard for manufacturing and industrial facilities. The high color temperature enhances visual acuity, contrast and color discrimination, which is critical for quality inspection, precision assembly and safety. Workers can spot defects, read gauges and identify hazards more easily under cool white light. For areas with detailed inspection or color-critical processes, specify CRI ≥80 (or ≥90 for electronics, textile and printing). Some facilities with continuous shift operations use 5000K to maintain alertness during night shifts. Always ensure adequate illuminance levels (typically 300-750 lux for general manufacturing, 750-1500 lux for detailed assembly) alongside the correct color temperature.
